Hey. I’m Matthew.

I’m using this first post to explain why I’ve started a blog, as well as list examples of what you might expect to see from it.

First and foremost, this blog is for me. You can read it, but I’ll only care about your opinion when I feel inclined to. I’m not trying to be dismissive of you, the reader, but I think so much of the world is focused on how we present ourselves and the opinions and hot takes of others. This space is for me, and that’s very nice.

I’ve started this blog because I often have thoughts in my mind that are too big for other TTRPG discourse. Social media is limiting and forces you to be … social. I’d rather take my time, present an idea, maybe you feel encouraged to comment, and we both move on with our day. This is in contrast to the idea that I post it on discourse where it is instead consumed as entertainment or a bite-sized snack to keep you scrolling. Where I’m not even finished posting my thoughts before someone can jump in and misinterpret or steamroll with their own words.

Hence the blogging.

I expect to see a few things out of this blog:
1. General thoughts on the current events/topics in the world of TTRPGs.
2. Crowdfunds and purchases that excite me. That way, I can turn them into content and then it’s okay I spend all this money, right?
3. Design talk, especially regarding games I’m making. At the time of writing, I’m going to be crowdfunding my game, Blightfall, in February 2026.

The aim is to post weekly, something doable and not stressful.
